Role:                    Business Development Director

Salary:                 £80,000 to £100,000 Plus Benefits Package & Bonus

Location:             Extensive UK travel as required

Purpose of the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join this growing established Industrial contracting business in this Business Development Director role, reporting to the MD. The Business Development Director will have experience within the Industrial, energy, manufacturing Commercial sector, be entrepreneurial in approach and retain and win business using the platform of the existing client portfolio.

The Business Development Director will develop strategies and plans to deliver the overall goals and financial targets and lead the Business Development team.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement the Business Development Strategy in order to generate the required growth and profitability

  • Conduct research and gather market and business intelligence necessary to identify and develop profitable markets suited to the overall capabilities of the company.

  • Oversee and direct large-scale, complex and/or strategically important new contracts and accounts as necessary.

  • Actively support and develop a strong Customer Service culture

  • Develop and improve management systems to properly monitor, review, report and control Business Development activities in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Required skills & experience

  • Significant and impactful SMT Business Development Executive from the Industrial Engineering contracting sector.

  • A respected and successful track record of winning large profitable contracts.

  • A thorough knowledge of the UK industrial contracting market within the UK.A proven network of contacts within major ‘blue chip’ organisations in the UK.

  • Understanding and empathy for client issues and complexity

  • Ability to conceive and drive change and develop BD strategies which have a significant impact on differentiating service delivery and building competitive advantage.

  • The ability to lead, direct and develop strong sales teams

  • Educated to degree level and member of a relevant professional institute.

  • Willing to travel extensively as required
