Duncan Carter - Director

After an early career in the construction sector in sales and
operational roles, graduated in Business & Law BA (Hons),
thereafter joined Michael Page Plc, Sales/Marketing Division in 1994. In 1997, joined a large national recruitment practice being part of a core team establishing a new executive level division.

Established macallam in 1999 as a quality oriented provider
of senior level search services. An enthusiastic sportsman,
his interests include golf, sailing and skiing.

Amanda Drew

Amanda joined Macallam in 2005 she formerly worked as Executive Assistant to the MD of a successful software company. With over 9 years experience Amanda Heads the administration and research side of Macallam.

Amanda enjoys experimenting with various types of cooking,
the gym, socialising and where the opportunity allows
travel abroad.

Steve Williams

Steve worked for a major UK Telco, commencing with 16 years in production Quality Assurance then periods in Marketing, Customer Services and more latterly Facilities Management where he spent 12 years. He finished as Head of FM for O2 UK Ltd.

As an expert in FM and an experienced corporate client, he leads Macallam’s FM and Support Services sector. Using his network, and previous experience, Steve is well positioned to assist FM and Support Services clients in their Management recruiting needs.

A self-confessed DIY expert and a keen hill walker and amateur golfer.

Robert Wright

Robert joined Macallam in early 2006 and has 10 years recruitment experience specific to the construction industry. Originally from Kent, Robert moved to North Yorkshire to attend the University of York and has remained living in the area with his wife and two sons. His recruitment background includes successful spells with Hays Montrose, where he was one of their top performing senior consultants, and team management for Beresford Blake Thomas (BBT), a member of the Vedior Group of recruitment companies. Robert is experienced in a wide variety of construction sectors; including main contractor, design consultancy, project management and surveying. Outside of work, Robert enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and climbing.

Corrina Stockwell

Corrina joined Macallam in early 2006

She previously worked for a successful and exclusive fashion and design company where she spent 9 years as store manager.

She recently took some time out to travel to Australasia and Asia and joins Macallam as a Research Administrator.

Corrina enjoys singing, music, spending time with family and friends and travel.

Ronald Buchanan

Ronald graduated in 2000, subsequently worked in London recruiting in various sectors with Michael Page and CPC, before then working overseas in the international wine sector in South Africa. Ronald then took over the M&E sector for Macallam, initially building market presence, and has since worked with many of the top M&E contractors in the country,dealing at senior levels from Managing Director through to Senior Project Managers. He prides himself on the highest level of discretion, within a market that can be very close knit. He has worked closely with Crown House Technologies, Haden Young, Emcor Engineering Services and many more. Ronald is a keen sportsman playing golf, tennis and Squash. He also enjoys cooking and has a strong interest in wine.

Simon Ashton – Non Executive Director

Simon joined the team in 2006 to help shape Macallam’s future and achieve its burning ambition of bringing something fresh and exciting to the field of executive recruitment. After an early academic overdose (degree in Physics, Chartered Accountant, degree in Marketing and MBA) Simon decided to do some real work. Over the past 15 years he has developed and grown a number of privately owned and VC backed businesses. As Chairman or Chief Executive he has been a catalyst to half a dozen companies with turnovers up to £100m and across sectors as diverse as textiles, automotive, foodservice, gardening, office furnishings, and giftware.

He has three great kids, a barking mad wife, and enjoys red wine.

Gavin Percy

Gavin is vastly experienced in the hospitality industry having spent 7 years as a Hotel General Manager (with Forte, Choice & Queens Moat Hotels) and 12 years within senior Sales roles (with Hilton, Queens Moat, Thistle and Best Western hotels).

Gavin recently made the move into Executive Search and has joined Macallam to head up a new area recruiting within the Leisure Industry covering hospitality, catering, soft facilities management, travel & tourism and sales & marketing.

Outside work Gavin's interests include spending time with his family, entertaining, socialising and the thankless task of supporting Scotland in all sports!!

Simon Lockwood

Simon joined Macallam in 2007 withover 8 years recruitment expertise in Healthcare. Having graduated in the late 90's he started his recruitment career with Ellis Fairbank progressing quickly to branch manager. He was headhunted to set up a healthcare division within MGM International (part of the MRI Worldwide Group). Having gained much experience within these two businesses he pursued the route of Associate within a new business in Leeds called Rilwood where he enjoyed over 3 years service.

Simon's big passion outside of work is sport. He still plays hockey, tennis and golf at a high standard, however, also enjoys jogging, skiing and hill-walking.

Chris Hill

Born in Leeds Chris grew up in South Africa till he was 22 when he returned to the UK and after a while found his way into the construction business. After a successful 7 years as a Project Manager he decided to spend some time in Spain and spent six years running his own business in the sunshine.

Chris returned to the UK 2 years ago and decided to use his construction knowledge to recruit building and civil engineering professionals for a wide variety of construction clients. In his spare time Chris enjoys playing golf and current affairs.

Richard Osborne

Richard has spent much of his career working within the Defence and Security sector. He graduated from Glamorgan University in 1997 after studying Law, joined the Army as a Commissioned Officer. He has served all over the world on operations which enabled him to expand his leadership and management skills. After leaving the Army in 2004, Richard worked for the Holdfast Consortia re-designing MoD training courses as an Intelligence & Security SME.

Richard recently spent 3 years as a client-facing Operations Manager working directly in support of reconstruction projects in Iraq for the US Army Corps of Engineers. Richard is married with 2 children, he is a keen runner, enjoys mountain marathons and hill walking.

Stephen Prendergast

Stephen's early career included positions in Manufacturing and Oil & Gas before obtaining his first director-level role in 1986 with Kvaerner Energy. Later Stephen moved to Asia to lead the German Group, Voith GmbH, in its move into the China and India markets. On returning to the UK after some years abroad he became MD of Yorkshire Water’s Engineering business.
Recently Stephen has held Executive Board positions with Amec Plc and Costain Plc, completed an MBI and became a senior advisor to the government on the UK construction industry.
Stephen has traveled extensively for business and pleasure and has four expensive women in his life; including 3 daughters. Steve is a keen sportsman with interests in Rugby, Football and Golf.
