Job Description
We have an urgent requirement for an Interim Library Service Manager to lead, develop and manage the provision of excellent, customer focused public library services that support the acquisition of knowledge, learning and literacy, to lead, develop and manage library service strategy ensuring that the service is responsive to customer expectation, political priorities and resource imperatives and to lead and develop effective partnerships for the purposes of providing excellent services that meet county council objectives and priorities and that widen participation in library services.
You will need have a proven track record of working in public libraries in a senior position with substantial budget responsibility. You will have excellent understanding of national public library strategies and be strong at business and financial planning, effecting change, leading teams and strategic service plan within a public library context.
You must be an effective communicator and possess strong stakeholder management skills. You will be highly organised, manage performance and resource to meet the required objectives. You will have gained experience of library services in other settings such as higher and further education and are likely to be a graduate and possibly a Chartered Librarian.
