Title: Engineering and Maintenance Manager
Location: Glasgow
Role: To £70,000 plus benefits package
Our client is one of the UK’s leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management companies.
They now require an experienced and talented Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead the efficient running and maintenance of a Recycling & Renewable Energy Centre. Through the provision of strong and clear leadership and guidance to the Engineering team you will deliver a best in class facility that encompasses continuous improvement in safety, performance and compliance, ensuring no compromise is made with regards to health, safety and environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Plant Manager and working closely with the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the leadership team where, ultimately, you will be responsible for maximising production through minimising the risk of breakdown.
- To maintain the plant to the appropriate legislation as well as Company and Contractual requirements
- To plan and manage all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance at using a mix of in-house staff and specialist contractors.
- To ensure the site complies with all statutory requirements for Health, safety and environmental issues
- Negotiate best prices for the purchase of further equipment
Qualifications & Experience:
- A demonstrable track record of success within a leadership capacity, possessing significant engineering experience
- Experience in mechanical engineering of a process plant environment, ideally from the energy sector or within a large scale steam raising process plant.
- A proven background in driving business objectives and delivering results through people and continuous improvement
- A strong no compromise approach to health and safety and environmental compliance
- Financial and budgetary responsibility in previous roles, together with experience of business planning
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
- Full driving license
